ABOUT
Our story
AFH has been keeping New Zealand businesses moving since 1974. We’re experienced forklift providers, selling, hiring, leasing and servicing forklifts nationwide.
We carry the country’s largest range of quality forklifts:
UN Forklifts, Yale, Jungheinrich and more.
Fifty years in. Still going.
What we do
From a single machine for an hour, a full fleet on long-term lease, or an outright purchase, we match the right equipment to the job and back it with 24/7 service.
One call gets it sorted.
Meet the team
Jim Boult
Director
Jim has spent his career solving problems. The bigger the better. From steering Christchurch Airport through the 2011 earthquakes to leading Queenstown Lakes District through Covid as mayor, he’s built a reputation for keeping things moving when it matters most. A Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit and director at AFH since 2021, Jim brings the kind of leadership experience that’s hard to manufacture.
Tracy Beetham
Office Manager
Tracy keeps the office running. Nine years at AFH means she knows the business inside out and most of the customers too. From the first phone call to the final invoice, if it needs sorting, Tracy is on it.
Roger Pierce
Director
Formerly a partner in an international accounting firm and a public company director, Roger is currently an adviser to various businesses. He brings the kind of commercial experience that comes from building and backing successful New Zealand ventures.
Peter Elliot
General Manager
Peter has spent over 30 years in operational management across some of New Zealand’s most demanding industries. From national logistics to large-scale event operations, he’s the kind of manager who’s seen it all and solved most of it. He came to AFH via Access Solutions, Halls Refrigerated Transport, and Hirepool, where he helped take an iconic Kiwi brand national. Outside work, he’s deeply involved in motorsport as a crew member, competitor, and emergency response manager at events including Supercars and the Highlands 101.
Brett McGrath
Financial Controller
Brett keeps AFH’s financials accurate, timely, and useful. The kind of information that drives decisions, not just reports. A Chartered Accountant with a sharp eye for when things need to change, he’ll make it happen. He’s also across Health and Safety for the business.
Nicholas Thring
Operations Manager
Nicholas heads up AFH’s service operation. Across every brand in the fleet, he knows what it takes to keep things moving and won’t settle for less. The person your forklift needs when something goes wrong.
